The Indian River High School “Marching Braves” is accepting applications/inquiries for all positions for the 2012 fall season. Indian River High School is located in Chesapeake bordering Virginia Beach and Norfolk. Not all positions are open at this time. However, all applicants will be considered! This is an aggressively growing band program in search of dedicated and skilled instructors. Pay is very competitive. This group currently competes on the USSBA circuit, including State and Nationals participation. With our new band room being complete this year, along with new marching band uniforms, I am confident that we will all have a great time as we embark on a wonderful experience with these very driven students.

Job Description: The ideal candidate for this position would have preferred HSBC marching “Show” band style experience in writing and collective arranging, however will not be the final determining factor for hire. This position will develop a newly recruited set of students (grade level TBD) that will be evaluated upon entry to the program. The longterm goals would be to develop the horn section to join the fully functional Drum line that currently travels and to enter competitions. You may be asked to travel based on necessity.
