Northern Jersey competitive USSBA band program is seeking an experienced field tech with DCI marching experience who is also capable of teaching/running a basics program.

*Rehearsals are 5:45pm to 9:00pm Monday and Wednesday and Saturdays beginning at 9:00am.

*Band Camp dates are August 19th to the 23rd.

***Attendance at a minimum of 4 competitions and Nationals is required.

*******This is a Stipend position.

Hello, my name is Marc from Goleta, California and I’m looking for a job as a potential Designer/Choreographer for any of the three marching disciplines (Field, Drumline, Guard) in the Santa Barbara areas.

In high school I have had experience on the field for marching trumpet, pit captain for drumline, and have proficient knowledge in flag and rifle fundamentals. I have a diverse background in dance from jazz and modern to ethnic styles such as Irish, Hula and Tahitian.

My collegiate years provided many opportunities for me to stretch out my artistic abilities. From visual arts (Design and Composition, BA in Theatre: Scenic Design) to the performing arts (Percussion, Choral, Dance and Choreography). I am knowledgeable in designing a space as well as performing in a space.

My goal is to is to use the training I have received from these many backgrounds and apply them to what WGI calls these marching disciplines “the sport of the arts.” My wish is to create performances that are not only visually effective but also visually efficient.

The Fort Lee High School Marching Band from Fort Lee, NJ, has an opening for one marching instructor for the fall.

You MUST HAVE marching experience. Prior marching band teaching experience is preferred by not required.

We are a USSBA Group VIA Competitive Marching Band whose schedule consists of about 3-5 Competitions/Festivals, most of which are in the North Jersey area.

Time requirements are as follows:

Before the School Year
August 29/30/31 and Sept. 1st – 5 – 8/9 pm.
(At FLHS)

During the School Year
2-3 Week Night Rehearsals: – 5:45 pm – 8 pm (TBA)
3-5 Competitions/Festivals
The occasional weekend rehearsal.

Football games are not required.

This is a great opportunity for music education majors to get experience before entering the job field!

You MUST have 60 college credits and undergo the standard school background check.
