The Cheltenham High School Marching Band is looking for a Visual Caption Head to join our team beginning in the summer of 2012. The position involves oversight of drill instruction, marching & body work instruction, and coordination with the color guard, with assistance from additional staff and techs. Salary will be commensurate with experience and the time commitment that can be made by the qualified candidate. Experience marching with a drum corps or serious collegiate program preferred.

Cheltenham was an open class finalist in the Cavalcade of Bands circuit in 2011, an A class champion in 2010, and will also look to compete in the USSBA circuit in 2012.

I haven’t been out of high school for very long, but Colorguard was my love and my passion all throughout high school. Most of my training has been from my experience with guard in school, but I also enjoy leaving a lot to the imagination and choreographing my own moves and routines for fun. I would enjoy having a job that I would absolutely love and to be able to share that passion with others would truly be an honor. I have participated in four OMEA State Finals, the band I was in, getting a superior rating at each event. Also, doing mini Winterguard shows at the school. (We didn’t have enough members for a real Winterguard team).

I am charging $15.00 per hour, within a 50 mile radious from Dayton, Ohio, and $25.00 an hour any further than that. I can work any days throughout the week, and even be there on the weekends for extra practices and for shows and competitions. I am here to help you out and build the best Colorguard that I can. I can train the team on proper spinning techniques as well as choreograph an award winning routine. Just give me the music, and let me know what you are looking for, and I am sure I can make that image come to life.

If private lessons are needed I will charge $10.00 an hour and teach all I can in the amount of time given. I am very through and detailed in my explanations so that team members can understand more quickly, and in more detail. If team members or band directors have move or routine ideas, I am always open to discussion and constructive criticism.
