I am a professional percussionist and marched for 5 years in a World Class Finalist drum corps. With 10 years of experience writing for and teaching percussion at Bridgewater-Raritan High School and elsewhere, experience as a professional gigging percussionist, and as an adjunct faculty member at Monmouth University and Passaic County College, I can provide distinctive scores that will enhance your ensemble.

My ten years at Bridgewater Raritan has provided me with experience in BOA, where BRHS has been Class Champions 4 times, and a consistent finalist since 2006, as well as, USSBA, where BRHS has been state champions in 2004,2005,2007,2008,2009,2010. These opportunities to see and hear a wide variety of bands will help me meet the needs and goals of your group.

I will write for any style and any level marching band. This includes music from abstract contemporary, to jazz and classical. ALL of my charts are custom, unique, and individually tailored to the size and competitive level of your marching ensemble.

My arrangements are designed to enhance the music of the entire ensemble, not just the battery and pit. With extensive knowledge of harmony,battery percussion, and effect, the scores will be appropriate for any situation and talent level.

If you’re looking for a drill designer, I’d love the chance to talk with you. For the last two years, I have written all the drill for the Syracuse University Marching Band. That includes six halftime shows and two single performance shows. I have written a few competitive high school shows for bands that compete in TOB and NYSFBC.

Before writing for Syracuse, I was a high school band director in Maryland for five years. We were very competitive and won a regional championship during my time as director. I have over a decade of instructional experience as a band director, visual , and visual instructor with competitive high school bands from West Virginia to New York.

As an instructor, I’ve seen drills that are teachable and those that present problem after problem. I’ve edited sections for both ease of performance and greater effect. As a musician and music educator, I can assure you that the music is of paramount importance. The drill I design will enhance the music instead of competing with it, while creating excellent visual effects with excellent development and effective staging of visual elements.

I have over 25 years experience as a designer and clinician for high school/college bands, drum corps, winter guards, and indoor drum lines. A former member of The Cavaliers and Boston Crusaders Drum & Bugle Corps, I am currently an adjudicator for the Central States Judges Association and US Bands Association.

My strengths are integration of the color guard and percussion into the visual design and music / visual coordination. I currently write 5-6 indoor percussion and 1-2 winter guard shows every year, so i know how to integrate those ensembles with the winds to maximize your overall effect. Many of my smaller bands have done well in competition, including the 2010 USSBA Class 1A Virginia Champions Liberty High School; and Astoria HS in Oregon, who march 13-17 winds and compete well with bands marching 70+ winds.

I offer drill design discounts when music, numbers, and deposit are received prior to May 1st. I will also do one “numbers” rewrite prior to band camp to make sure your instrumentation is accurate.
